Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) is a cytosolic non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase, which is mainly expressed in hematopoietic cells. SYK is important in the B-cell receptor signaling pathway and signal transduction from other immune receptors. Apart from GvHD, SYK inhibitors are being investigated for B-cell malignancies, as well as for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
